mjrW-2 tool steel; this started out as an exercise in pulling hamon. But I liked the shape of the blade, and I liked the grind-mark surface on the spine, so I decided to finish it and it is one of my best.
The bolster is synthetic ivory, and it’s very realistic. The material has inner structure like actual ivory but it’s legal and it’s a delight to work.
