1095 wire rope “plow cable” damascus, differentially tempered. Handle is redwood burl and vintage redwood.
I made this for Dan G.; I was aiming for a “down home kitchen knife” for a fellow who’s mostly a farmer. I was quite happy with how it came out until I noticed it was slightly bent. Since it’s differentially tempered I knew there was a good chance that I could tap it back into line with a little rap on the anvil. Instead, I made a crack in the martensite edge near the tip. I’ll try again later.
