This is a high layer-count wrought iron/1095, 1095 core san mai. The handle is faux ivory micarta with stabilized curly red oak.
I must say the faux ivory micarta is pretty great stuff, it really looks fantastic and it’s easy to work though it gets hot quickly.
The grain in the oak drives me wild with delight, so I left the blade un-parkerized so that it will eventually age to match.
