Twisted Mistakes

This piece came out rather pretty (and quite sharp) but it has some serious flaws.First and foremost in the “what was I thinking?” department, it’s a twist damascus with nickel layers in it. Since it’s a twist that means the nickel winds up on the edge of the knife; not very sharp. Then, there was a weld that broke apart a bit, which I decided to “cure” with some MIG wire. Lastly, the end-cap on the handle is not on straight.

I’m going to call it “practice.” I know a fellow who said he’d be happy to have it, so I sent it off to him.
