This is an experiment at many layers. Crazy deep fuller, wrought iron faces, 1095 core, and parkerized deep etch in phosphoric acid.

Since it looked bubbly I went with a chunky maple burl handle and homemade mokume gane endpiece and bolster in nickel and copper.

Grinding a deep fuller into wrought iron is surprisingly pleasant; the stuff cuts like butter.

Flaws: I wish the transition at the top of the blade was cleaner but it worked out the way it worked out. I left a hard ridge in the metal as a thumb-rest but after the knife was assembled I realized it looked like it was supposed to carry the bolster and I just screwed up. By then, the handle was on and it was too late to re-shape the back.
